I was shocked and saddened to hear about Bruce passing. He was not only a first cousin but also a hunting and fishing buddy that will be greatly missed. I was especially proud of his service to our country. He left us way too soon. My thoughts and prayers are with Aunt Mabel and James Robert as they lay Bruce to rest.

I am the yougest first cousin on Verlon's side. I miss the days of all of our family's gathered. The older Flatt cousins including Donna, Joanna, and Robert having to keep an eye on Jason and myself, for the combined birthdays for Bruce and my dad (Billy Pigg), whose birthdays were a day apart in August. With Jr's and Bruce's similar Ford Pintos along with the rest of the families vehicles lined up around the curve in front of the house. Everyone enjoying family and friends for a birthday cookout with hamburgers and hotdogs on the grill prepared by dad, Verlon, and uncle Hubert(Flatt). Everyone looking foward to the sides and the cake that mom(Robbie), Mabel, and aunt Peggy had made not the least was a cake decorated with both Bruce and Billy happy birthday on it.

Bruce and I went through school together and graduated high school together. I had not seen him in many years but I remember him well as fun to be in class with and he was always kind to me. I reverently am grateful to his service to defend and protect our country and those that are vulnerable. My condolences to James, Belinda, Mrs. Mabel and all his family and loved ones. My prayers are with you all.
