Obituary for Virginia Mae Chaffin (Rodgers)
Virginia Mae Chaffin, 85 of Baxter, Tennessee passed from this life on Wednesday, March 24, 2021, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
Virginia was born Friday, May 24, 1935, in Baxter, Tennessee, and she was the daughter of the late John Oliver Rodgers and the late Callie Minnie (Philpot) Rodgers.
Virginia was a faithful member of the Baxter Church of Christ for several years. Virginia loved yard work, working in her flower and vegetable garden, canning, doing puzzles, watching tv, and reading. She loved to spend time with her great-grandchildren most of all. She worked 29 years at Acme Boot Company and 14 years at the Putnam County Health Department. Virginia was loved by all that knew her and she will be greatly missed.
Virginia is survived by, 2 Sons, Kenneth and Mary Hargis, and Dennis Hargis; 6 Grandchildren, Amanda Burkett, Jason and Kate Chaffin, Deana Hargis, Annie and Jason Longmire, Heather and Kyle Story, and Josh and Jessica Hargis; 11 Great-Grandchildren, Walker, and Carson Burkett, Noah, Kenlee, and Saylor Longmire, Daniel, Libby, Jaxson, and Aiden Hargis, Scout, and Jackson Chaffin;
In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by, Husband, Dallas Junior Hargis; Son, David Mitchell Chaffin; 4 Brothers, Oscar, Floyd, Clifford, and Edward Rodgers; 2 Sisters, Mabel Scarlett, and Dorean Lafever;
Funeral Service for Virginia Mae Chaffin will be held Friday, March 26, 2021, at 3:00 pm from the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home with Bro. John Pippin officiating. Interment will follow in the Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will be held Friday, March 26, 2021, from 2:30 until the time of service at Crest Lawn Funeral Home.
