Obituary for Terry Lynn Maynard
Terry Lynn Maynard, 65, of Crossville, Tennessee, and formerly of Jackson County, Tennessee passed from this life Monday, March 22, 2021 at Cumberland House.
He was born July 23, 1955, in Cookeville, Tennessee, to the late Gene and Margaret (Adcock) Maynard.
Terry is survived by his wife of 11 years, Joni; brother, Rick Maynard, and sister, Debbie Maynard; 3 Children, Theresa Maynard, Barbara "Jo" Johnson, and Matthew Johnson; Stepdaughters, Monica Hedgecoth, and Becky Cooper and their families, grandsons; Russell Welch, Carson Hamilton, Tristan Luna, and Joseph Johnson; granddaughter, Taylor Luna-Hoopes (Adam): great-grandchildren, Andrew, Caitlyn, and James Luna; Numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, brothers, and sisters-in-law.
In addition to his parents, Terry was preceded in death by, Late Wife, Cheryl (Norris) Maynard; Uncles, James Maynard, and Ralph Adcock.
He was a member of Central Baptist Church of Crossville, Tennessee. He graduated from Jackson County High School in 1973. He then joined the Army for three years where he traveled to Germany. He later joined the Navy serving 14 years, traveling as far as Antarctica. He began working as a Correctional Officer and after receiving his degree from MTSU, he worked as a counselor at the Bledsoe County Correctional Complex before retiring in 2015 where he spent 22 years. He loved his family and whenever he had the opportunity, he would play golf, take his boat out searching for Walleye, ride his Harley, and travel with Joni and Priscilla, their cat, in their RV.
Funeral Service for Terry Lynn Maynard will be held Friday, March 26, 2021, at 12:00 pm from the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor Todd Daugherty officiating with full military honors. Interment will follow in the Smith Chapel Cemetery in Dodson Branch, Tennessee.
Visitation with the family will be held Thursday, March 25, 2021, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm and again, Friday, March 26, 2021, from 10:00 am until time of service at Crest Lawn Funeral Home.
Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 27, 2021, at 2:00 pm from the Central Baptist Church, 1346 South Main Street, Crossville, Tennessee, 38555.
