Obituary for Sharon L Milstead (Weedon)

Sharon Lee (Weedon) Milstead, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away in the early morning of Thursday, May 13th, surrounded by her favorite fellers. She was 88 years old at the time of her passing.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents Edward (Daddy Buck) and Mae Agnes; her sisters Sissy (Mae Agnes) and Jean; her darling husband of 59 years, Roger; and the many dogs she loved during her lifetime.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Gail (Milstead) Moore and Steven Milstead; grandchildren: Amanda (Moore) Daniels, Lyndsay (Moore) Herron, Matthew Moore, and Jonathan Moore; and great-grandchildren Ellis and Emelia Herron.

Sharon loved her family fiercely. She either made the world’s best or worst spaghetti, depending on which family member you ask. Her “French Toast” isn’t up for debate, though. A woman of style, you’d frequently see her in red wigs, gold, animal print, bright pink lipstick, and clip-on bling galore! She delighted in telling people about the time she danced The Twist with Chubby Checker and dreamed of visiting Pompeii.

Sharon loved “charclit”, hiding Certs for Lyndsay, pushing buttons (literally and figuratively), Sprite, Jonathan’s Barney bites, the supernatural, Golden Girls, shopping with Gail, threatening her family she’d haunt them if they didn’t do what she wanted, gabbing with Steve, giving questionable relationship advice, Brian’s copycat frapps, riding over speed bumps (ungh!), asking strangers if their dog was a “yella lab”, visiting Disney World then swearing she’d never do it again, Christmas, guilting Matthew into naming his first born “Grandma”, and visits from Amanda.

We’d still get glimpses of her spunk and wicked sense of humor, even towards the end. After announcing that tiramisu was for dessert, she dramatically told us that she was going to sneak into the kitchen while everyone was asleep and throw it out the window.

There are no plans for a service at this time, though a private celebration of life for both Sharon and Roger may be held by the family in the future.
