Gwen: I just learned of Randy's passing. You may not remember me by name, but I used to work with Randy in dispatch. When my husband passed away unexpectedly, I had to briefly bring my son to your daycare because I knew you through Randy and trusted my son in your care. I always looked forward to working with Randy. I could always count on him to give accurate and trustworthy information on every call. He did the job the way it was supposed to be done. We both loved it when it got crazy busy. We would talk about negative attitudes and we decided to make jokes in order to pass the time during what could be serious times. Randy was always giving me a hard time, so I took that as a compliment! He could see the truth in situations, and I was thankful he didn't jump on the bandwagon when many would against others. He took pride in his work. He truly cared about the people who called in and always showed the professionalism and courtesy even when the caller may have been hard to deal with. He was always talking about you and his children. He would tease about how you were so mean to him and I would tell him 'apparently Gwen's not mean enough' or 'I bet it would be a different story if she was standing right here'. I would threaten to call you if he didn't straighten up. He'd say "don't call her she'll beat me to death'. It was always good clean humor. When he was serious, he would talk of his love for you and his children. He was so proud and thankful to God for all of you. He never pulled any punches on that. Many people in this life never know what their spouses say when not with them. You can rest assured, as you already know, Randy was the same person at work as he was any other time. He was and always will be Randy. My sincere condolences to you. I know what it's like to lose a one of a kind husband. My prayers are with you, your children and extended family. God bless you always. -Mimi

Dear Family, we are so sorry to hear of Randy's passing. We are from Cordele. He went to school with our daughter, Tamara, and son-in-law, Jake Jacobs. I (Linda) also went to school with his mother-in-law, Ruth. She is such a sweet person to know. From all the posts to his memory wall, it sounds as if he was a very well liked person in Cookeville. May God bless all of you with His peace and comfort during this sad time. We are praying for you. Rest in peace, Randy.
