Pamela Phillips, 85, of Largo, FL, formerly of Cookeville, passed away Friday, January 6, 2023.
She was born December 31, 1937 to Irene (Folkard) and Albert Flatt in Woodbridge, Suffolk, England where she grew up with her twin sister Doreen and brother Ted. After meeting Albert Phillips at the American military base, fate brought her to Cookeville, TN where she spent the next 48 years of her life. During that time, she spent 25+ years working in the office of Admissions and Records at Tennessee Tech University making many friends and helping many students. She was affectionately known as the little lady who talked funny. She often said that she didn’t talk funny, everyone else did. While she kept that British accent all her life, the South did become ingrained as she often used the phrases like “fixin’ to.” She obtained her US citizenship in 1988, but always maintained the image and decorum of a very proper British lady.
Pamela is survived by her daughter Sheralynn Poster (Kevin) of Clearwater, FL and her grandchildren of TN - Hammer GamBrell, Brixner GamBrell (Bethany), Heather Schad (Erin), and Ryan Poster, two great grandchildren, Keegan and Baker Schad, her twin sister Doreen Quale of Puyallup, WA, and her very best friend in the world - Jan Thompson.
She is predeceased by her husband Albert Phillips, daughter Sandra Hardy, and brother Ted Flatt.
