Michael David Metzger (Mikey) (Uncle Mike to nieces & nephews) passed away peacefully February 24, 2023 at his home in Cookeville. He was born 7-10-70 in Keflavik NAS, Iceland as his father was stationed there.
He was raised primarily in the Sacramento area until his teens when the family returned to Southern California for 10 years. Mike worked as a Merchandiser, setting up displays for stores in Tennessee.
In 2019 Mike was diagnosed with acute kidney failure and became a dialysis patient at home nightly, then in 2021 had to have his left leg amputated.
Mike will be greatly missed by his family, he loved to shop and travel and had many adventures. He is survived by his parents Robert & Judy Metzger, sister Deni Hall (Jerry) of Pahrump, NV., sister Lynn Blasengym (Ralph) of Cookeville, TN., brother Charles Metzger (Livija) of Elyria, OH., and many Uncles, Aunts, Nieces, Nephews & many cousins.
We will be doing a celebration of life at a later time this year. The family requests any donation be made in his name to the Kidney Foundation.
