Obituary for Linda Lands (Green)
Linda D. Lands, age 74, of Cookeville, Tennessee passed from this life surrounded by her loving family the morning of Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at her home.
She was born July 21, 1948, in New Tazewell, TN to Dana and Mollie (Rice) Green.
She was a 1966 graduate of Monroe High School, Monroe, MI. Linda met the love of her life, the late Roger Lands, and the two were married on October 1, 1966, at the Franklin St. Church of God.
Linda retired as an Assistant Residency Coordinator for the University of Michigan Department of Family Medicine in 2011 after 23 years of employment. She also pastored alongside her husband at Glad Tidings Worship Center in Ypsilanti, MI for 28 years. After retirement, she and Roger relocated to Cookeville, TN. She faithfully attended I AM Worship Church in Cookeville, TN. Linda enjoyed traveling, reading, and spending time with her family.
To continue her legacy, Linda leaves her mother: Mollie Green; one son: Jason (Mandy) Lands; her sister Karen (Edwin) Rice; five grandchildren: Addison, Judah, Indie, Major, and Blu Lands; and many nieces & nephews.
In addition to her father Dana Green and husband Roger, Linda was preceded in death by daughter Alana in 1981 and brother Kenneth Green of Monroe, MI.
Family and friends may visit from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Crest Lawn Funeral Home, where a celebration of her life will begin at 100 pm from the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home. Her son Rev. Jason Lands of I AM Worship Church will officiate. Burial will immediately follow at Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery.
