Obituary for Kaye Frances Bowman (Chote)

Kaye Frances Bowman passed peacefully from this life in the early hours of December 11, 2020, surrounded by her family.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 14 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Crest lawn. The family will have a private graveside service the following day.

Mrs. Bowman was born in Cookeville on August 3, 1943, to Pete Chote and Frances Snelson, the oldest of four children.

She is survived by two sons, Michael (Amy) Allen of Jackson County, Brian (Mary Dee) Allen of Cookeville, two step-sons, Andy (Kathy) Bowman of Flowery Branch, GA, and Casey (Jade) Bowman of Mount Juliet. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren, Benjamin Allen, Jesse Allen, Britton and Baylor Bowman, Chris Bowman, Celia Hanson, Adam Phillips, and Ashton Earwood, seven great- grandchildren, Elizabeth and Ethan Hanson, Preston Quindry, Austin and Jolee Phillips, Sophie Templin and Kallie Bowman, a sister Jane Bowman, as well as a host of nieces and nephews, including special niece, Megan Smith. She also loved her faithful furry companion, Sophie.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bowman was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth, brother Randy Chote, sister Linda Sparks, an infant sister and grandson, Jordy Phillips.

Mrs. Bowman was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of Jefferson Avenue Church of Christ where she enjoyed helping with service projects such as Magi Boxes, a project that provided Christmas boxes to underprivileged children. She also enjoyed sending and receiving personal cards to and from friends and family, and always added her special touch to them.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Sarah Cannon Cancer Center in Nashville, TN.
