Mrs. Dickey died Friday, February 5, 2021 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

She was born May 5, 1948 in Memphis, TN to Arthur Floyd and Mary Evelyn Thompson Furrow. She resided in Memphis for most of her childhood and then graduated from West Memphis High School.
She met her husband, Doug Dickey, in Memphis. She worked as a teller for C&I Bank in Memphis until her first child was born. They married July 16, 1966 and celebrated 54 years of marriage together. They moved to Bristol, VA in 1981 and then moved to Cookeville in 1986. They also lived in Laurinburg, NC and Berlin, OH. When Doug retired, they moved back to Cookeville in 1999. She then worked at Community Bank in Cookeville.
Karen loved people and babies. Always interested in others, she never missed an opportunity to tell a complete stranger how beautiful or smart their children were. She enjoyed traveling to the beach or the mountains with her children and grandchildren. One of her favorite verses was Philippians 4:6 “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplications, with thanksgiving, let your requests be known to God.”
She was preceded in death by her parents, Art and Evelyn Furrow and her brother Art Furrow Jr. (Linda). She is survived by her husband of 54 years Doug Dickey; sons, Alan Dickey Douglas (Cathy) of Brentwood, TN; and Michael Drew Dickey (Lisa) of Cookeville; grandchildren Reese Douglas, Jenny Douglas, Ethan Douglas and Brent Jared (Misty); and great grandchildren Jonas Jared, Gabe Jared, and Noah Jared. Along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Blake Grogan, Billy Lee, Brent Jared, Cary Brown, Reese Douglas, and Ethan Douglas will serve as pallbearers.
