Elmer J. Wade, 85 years old, of Cookeville, Tennessee left this world to be with loved ones who preceded him in death.
Born at home in Kentucky, the son of the late Roy and Blanche Wade.
Mr. Wade was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather and friend to all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Shirley, their 5 children, Roger (Lisa) of Texas, Cindy (Brad), Tammy, Michael (Kim) and Matthew, all of Indiana. Grandchildren Jessie, Rachel (Richard) Brad Jr.(Rebekah), of Indiana, Beth and Hannah, of Texas. Great Grandchildren, Sam, Evan, Owen, Jaxon, Emmery, Ellie, Ruby, Judah and Owen all in Indiana, Sisters Joyce (Jim), Carol (Bill), of Indiana and a Brother Neal (Myra) of Florida.
He is preceded in death by Father Roy, Mother Blanch, Brother Wayne and Grandson DJ.
Elmer worked many jobs but retired from the Ford plant in Indianapolis after 30 years. He was a good Christian man who was loved and respected. He was a humble man who was always there to help those in need. He was compassionate and kind and truly left this earth a better place for having lived in it. He will be missed by, not only his family, but everyone who knew him.

Funeral services for Mr. Wade will be conducted Thursday, May 12, 2022 beginning at 3:00 pm from the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home with Bro. Ted Kocher and Rev. Jim Staggs officiating. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Cookeville.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, May 12, 2022 from 2:00 pm until the time of service at 3:00 pm.
