Obituary for James "Tom" Thomas Abner Jr.
James "Tom" Thomas Abner, Jr., 56 of Cookeville, Tennessee passed from this life on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at his home.
Tom was born Tuesday, March 29, 1966, in Cookeville, Tennessee, and he was the son of the late James Thomas Abner, Sr. and the late Wanda Lou (Polston) Abner.
Tom was a loving son, brother, father, Pa, uncle, and friend. He loved the Lord and attended Cookeville First Church of God. He loved to work on cars, was a great mechanic and he loved to ride motorcycles. Tom was known to be a protector and made sure he always knew what was going on around him. He loved his family and his children, grandchildren, and sister Ann were his world. Tom was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.
Tom is survived by, 3 Children, Tara Abner and partner, Daniel Byars, Toshya Warren, and her husband Matt, and Tommy "Bubba" Abner and fiancee, Brittney Stinson; 5 Grandchildren, Alexis, Kylie, Traeton, Lillie, and Elijah; Sister, Angelia "Ann" Cooper, and her husband, Tim; Mother Of His Children, Patricia Abner; A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.
In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by, Sister, Tonya Moore; Paternal Grandparents, Otto and Lillie (Henley) Abner.
Funeral Service for James "Tom" Thomas Abner, Jr, will be held Sunday, April 2, 2023, at 2:00 pm from the Cookeville First Church of God, 1223 Fisk Road, Cookeville, Tennessee, 38501 with Pastor Cameron Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in the West Cemetery, Fairview Community.
Visitation with the family will be held Saturday, April 1, 2023, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Crest Lawn Funeral Home, and Sunday, April 2, 2023, from 1:00 pm until the time of service at Cookeville First Church of God.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Abner, Daniel Byars, Matt Warren, Tim Cooper, Clifford McGahee, Mike Wilson, and Cameron Wilson.
In Lieu of Flowers, donations are asked to be made to the funeral home to help with his funeral expenses.
