James" Bill" Montgomery, 88 of Cookeville, passed away on Friday, September 16, 2022, at his home with his family.

Born Tuesday, February 20, 1934 in Cookeville, he was the son of the late Willis and Betty (Proffitt) Montgomery.

Bill is survived by his wife of 21 years Violet Johnson Montgomery of Cookeville

Bill is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents Bill is preceded in death by, his first wife Reba Montgomery, 2 sons James Rice and William Rice, 1 daughter, Gloria Cartwright, 2 grandsons, Josh Rice, and Jason Rice and 2 granddaughters, Jessica Rice and Patricia Dean Scott Montgomery.

Funeral services for Bill will be held Wednesday, September 21, beginning at 12:00 pm from the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home with the Bro. Daniel Whitehead officiating. Entombment will be in Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery,

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, September 20, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
