Obituary for Glen Edward Mecum
Glen Edward Mecum, 87 of Cookeville, Tennessee passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2022, at Heritage Pointe Senior Living.
Glen was born Monday, October 15, 1934, in Carmi, Illinois, and he was the son of the late Paul Jasper Mecum and the late Bertha Ellen (Hubele) Mecum.
Glen was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He was very friendly and always joking with anyone he could. Glen was loved by all that knew him and he will be greatly missed.
Glen is survived by, Wife of 67 years, Gerri Mecum; 2 Children, Michael D. Mecum, and Karen L. Mecum; 3 Grandchildren, Glen Race, Jordan Tackett and his wife Taylor, and Katherine Race; 2 Great-Grandchildren, Mila, and Sawyer Tackett.
In addition to his parents, Glen was preceded in death by, 2 Children, Terry Allen Mecum, and Sandra Kay (Mecum) Race; a Brother, Ronald Frank Mecum; Baby Sister, Neva M. Mecum.
Glen chose cremation, the family followed his wishes, and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Cookeville Fire Department, The Cookeville Police Department, Saint Jude's Children's Hospital, or Shriner's Hospital.
