Dicy "Irene" Carter, 88 of Cookeville, Tennessee passed from this life Saturday, October 31, 2020, surrounded by her family.

Born Tuesday, March 8, 1932 in Cookeville, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Thurman and Dimple (Lafever) Steward.

She was the loving wife of 50 years to the late Warren G. Carter of Cookeville, TN.

Irene liked music, playing bingo, rook, and reading, She enjoyed family gatherings and reunions. Most of all, she loved her family. She was a member of the Holladay Church of Christ.

19 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

A graveside service for Irene will be held Thursday, November 5, 2020 beginning at 1:00 pm at Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Interment will follow.
