Obituary for David Allison Walker

David Allison Walker, 80 of Cookeville, Tennessee passed peacefully without any regrets from this life on Thursday, March 23, 2023, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

David was born Tuesday, December 15, 1942, in Crystal Springs, Mississippi, and he was the son of the late Wayne Allison Walker and the late Ernestine Marie (Conroy) Walker.

David was a loving son, brother, father, Pops, uncle, and friend.  Although he was encouraged to hunt, his passion for all things mechanical began at an early age.  With only a hammer and a screwdriver, he would take his wagon to the scrapyard and haul away little engines to tinker with.  After high school, David's uncle Wesley steered him out of trouble and into the United States Navy where he proudly served nine years as a Machinary Repairman. After the Navy, he worked as an Engineering Lab Technician with Tennessee Tech University and retired after 32 years.  He was an integral team leader for TTU's Mini Baja team and assisted professors and graduate students with their projects and designs.  In his spare time, he designed and built an underground earth shelter home almost entirely by himself.  David was loved and respected by all that knew him and he will be greatly missed.

David is survived by, Son, Sean Walker and his wife, Greta; Daughter, Kendra Flanagan and her husband, Mike; 4 Grandchildren, Bailey and Rachel Huseman, and Ian and Finn Walker; 3 Sisters, Jeanette Walker, Joyce Boleware, and Susan Roberts; Partner, Linda "Maggie" Kirk; A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, special friends, and neighbors.
