Obituary for Clay Thomas

Henry “Clay” Thomas, born September 6, 1931, passed away January 12, 2021

Survived by his two sons, Dean (Donna) and Durel (Trish) Thomas; Grandsons, Jason
(Stacy), Kenny (Tabitha), Jeremiah “JD” (Melissa), Nathan and Patrick Thomas; granddaughters Emily (Andrey) and Hannah (Brett) Thomas, 14 great-grandchildren, his sister Frieda Thomas Boyd and his brother Ralph Thomas.

Preceded in death by his wife, Mary “Francis” Thomas (nee Autry); his brothers, Richard, Clater, and Austin Thomas and his sisters Elsie Gantt Howell and Loretta Clouse.

Clay, as his friends knew him, served 4 years in the Army and then started his career in the car industry as a salesman, dealer, and owner until he was 86 years old. Driving was his passion. He would get up every day at 6:00 a.m. and go to the nursing home to visit family and friends and then meet others for breakfast at Hardee's. He had some of the best gardens in town and was proud of his tomatoes and would share with everyone. Clay loved people and his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was very loved by all and will be missed until we all meet again.

Visitation will be held on Saturday January 16, 2021 from 3-5pm at Crest Lawn Funeral Home.
