Chris Crotts Brown, 64, of Baxter, Tennessee, passed away from this life on November 8, 2022, at Alive Hospice in Nashville, Tennessee. He was born on October 9, 1958, at White County Hospital.
Chris is preceded in death by his parents, O.C. Brown, and Theda Belle (Maynard) Brown. Grandparents Shirley & Oma (Cole) Maynard, and Lucas & Bessie (Crotts) Brown.
Chris was a friendly person to everyone he met and loved to make people laugh. In his spare time he loved to hunt, fish, camp, horseback ride and take trips on his motorcycle. Chris’ greatest joy in life was his grandchildren, as well as being a loving husband to his wife, Jerri, for 13 wonderful years.
Chris began his career at Mallory, but his dream was always to be in law enforcement. Chris then fulfilled that dream as a deputy for the Putnam & White County Sherriff’s office for 21 years.
Chris is survived by his wife, Jerri Brown; daughter Amanda Kinnaird and her husband Wes; Grandchildren, Caylee Bussell, Kylee Kinnaird and James Kinnaird; Sister, Mary Judd and her husband John; Nephew, Jonathon Riggsbee and his wife Kristin, Sam Riggsbee; Niece, Whitney Slatten and her husband Nick, as well as seven great nieces and nephews.
The family would also like to express their gratitude to Alive Hospice, Vanderbilt Critical Care, the Cookeville Fraternal Order of Police, Upper Cumberland Defenders, and the Auxiliary Fraternal Order of Police.
Visitation with the family will be held at Crest Lawn Funeral Home in Cookeville, Tennessee, on Friday, November 11, 2022, from 4:00pm-6:00pm.
To honor his wishes, the family will spread Chris’ ashes over the family farm at a later date.
