Obituary for Carl Wilford Hamilton

Carl Wilford Hamilton, 91 of Cookeville, Tennessee was called to his eternal home on Saturday, December 24, 2022.

Carl was born Monday, November 9, 1931, in Grayson, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Albert Hamilton and the late Daught (Stamper) Hamilton.

Carl loved music, animals, nature, and classic cars.  He wrote and recorded his own song in 1969 while he was in Korea titled "There's A Woman In The Moon".  Carl was a corporal in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Carl is survived by, Wife of 67 Years, Shirley Ann (Alverson) Hamilton; 3 Children, Tammey Smith, Deborah Martin, and partner Todd Steingraber, and Stan Martin; Grandson, Carl Sanders and partner, Samantha Blackburn; Special Friend, Doug Smith and Carl's beloved dog, Oliver; Brother, Paul Hamilton and his wife, Carol; A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by, 2 Brothers, Bud Hamilton and Burnice Hamilton; 2 Sisters, Melva "Crickett" Gaskill, and Hazel Mobley; Infant Son, Carl Michael Hamilton.

Carl chose cremation, the family followed his wishes, and a private memorial service will be held at Crest Lawn Funeral Home.
