Obituary for Billy Harlon Rippetoe
Billy Harlon Rippetoe, age 86 of Cookeville, Tennessee passed from this life Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at his home in Cookeville at 11:00 am.
Born Monday, May 18, 1936, in Cookeville, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Charlie and Nina (Qualls) Rippetoe.
Bill was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, and great grand-father. He was loved by many friends and family. He was a local businessman and served Putnam County for several years as both a County Commissioner and Property Assessor. After serving Putnam County, he continued working as a general contractor until his retirement. He loved sports and played racquetball and golf for many years. Bill loved Bluegrass Music and attended many festivals over the years. Most importantly he loved his family and was so proud of all their accomplishments. Bill was a member of Locust Grove Church of Christ and served as an elder.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Mildred C. Rippetoe; sister, Bobbie Shumate; brother, Jim Rippetoe.

Funeral Services for Bill will be held Friday, April 7, 2023, beginning at 12:00 noon from the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Fox and Bro. David Flatt officiating. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, April 7, from 9:00 am until the time of service at 12:00 noon.
